But why should you attend WordCamp San Antonio?
There are lots of reasons! Let’s take the top 5:
– It’s Not Just About WordPress
Sure, learning about WordPress (the most popular content management system on the web, not to mention that it powers a little over 27% of the top million websites) is part of the event… there’s a beginner’s workshop and the entire schedule is for those learning WordPress at any level. But even if you don’t WANT to learn WordPress, the event has many speakers talking about general subjects (like freelancing, web security, and design), or talking about subjects that can apply to any language you are coding (like HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript).
– It’s affordable
You can’t beat a conference that has over 30+ speakers/panelists (from around the world) for $40 for the weekend. That weekend ticket also includes some nice swag, lunch both days, snacks, and a t-shirt (assuming you grab a ticket in time), and an official after party Saturday night. Again, it’s hard to find a tech conference with that price tag and that much value.
– Meeting People
WordCamp San Antonio, like many other WordCamps, brings in a variety of people. Many of these are looking for work, looking to hire, or just looking to meet with interesting people. Many of these are people that work for hosting companies or are plugin developers that you probably already know by name.
– Great For Developers
PHP and WordPress developers will get value from WCSATX. As we mentioned, we have an entire track devoted to design and development. Anyone from Microsoft .NET users to Ruby developers can get value from what our speakers bring to the conference.
– For Users & Bloggers
You don’t have to be a developer, coder, or WordPress professional. You can be using WordPress for the first time, or just trying to figure out how to make your own business website better. You can find out how to use social media or content marketing to improve how your business is performing – and talk with people that have made it work for themselves.
A Few FAQs
Who should attend?
Everyone! No really, everyone! The event will be two full days of workshops, networking, and previewing new products and services from our sponsors (while grabbing cool stickers and t-shirts). Even if you don’t like any of those things, you get a cool t-shirt, swag bag full of goodies, and lunch both days for only $40.
Do I have to be a coder to get something out of the sessions?
Absolutely not! We will have three tracks – Beginner, Business, and Advanced – so no matter what skill level you are at, we have something for you. Check back soon to see the topics in each track when we list a schedule.
